Employment

One of the main ways cancer impacts people’s lives is through changes to employment. Many people with cancer need to take time off or reduce the hours they work during treatment and recovery. There are several programs and policies in place to help manage employment concerns related to cancer.

Health Insurance

Most people with cancer rely on health insurance to help cover the costs of treatment. We describe the most common types of health insurance and provide information to help understand and use insurance coverage.

MI-COST sponsored a series of webinars on topics related to addressing the financial concerns of people with cancer, including health insurance, disability benefits, finding and accessing cancer-related resources, employment benefits, and communicating with providers about cost concerns.
